Canopy Power Australia has partnered with Norwegian floating solar specialist Ocean Sun to deploy innovative floating solar solutions across Australia, combining Ocean Sun’s floating photovoltaic (FPV) technology with Canopy Power’s microgrid and battery expertise.

The collaboration aims to accelerate Australia’s energy transition by addressing land and water constraints near population centers while introducing integrated rainwater harvesting capabilities. The partnership will leverage Canopy Power’s experience in hybrid renewable systems, including battery storage integration and various solar PV configurations, alongside Ocean Sun’s floating technology.

“We are thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with Canopy Power to introduce our innovative floating solar solution to the Australian market,” Ocean Sun representatives said. “With its vast potential for floating solar, Australia is an ideal market for our technology.”

Building on their success with the Soneva Secret project, Ocean Sun expressed commitment to advancing Australia’s renewable energy goals through scalable and cost-effective clean energy solutions.

Canopy Power Australia’s managing director Mahasti Motazedi echoed this sentiment, stating, “We are committed to making a meaningful impact on Australia’s renewable energy and sustainability goals.”

The partnership represents a significant step forward in Australia’s renewable energy landscape, combining Ocean Sun’s high-efficiency FPV technology with Canopy Power’s expertise in microgrids and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to deliver comprehensive clean energy solutions.
