This announcement highlights Shepherd’s recent participation in the United Nations Summit of the Future, held during the 79th UN General Assembly at the UN Headquarters in New York this past September. The NGO Committee on Sustainable Development-NY focuses on monitoring, educating, supporting, and advocating for the implementation of United Nations commitments related to sustainable development. These commitments include agreements from the UN Conference on Environment and Development, the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Paris Agreement on Climate Action, Rio+20, and the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda. The NGOCSD-NY holds Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is affiliated with the UN Department of Global Communications.
