Radius Recycling, a global player in metals recycling, has announced the release of its Fiscal 2024 Sustainability Report. The report underscores the Company’s pivotal role in driving the transition to a low-carbon future by supplying recycled metals essential for producing more sustainable products, particularly those supporting global decarbonisation efforts.

“Nearly a decade ago, we established a sustainability framework centred on three pillars: People, Planet, and Profit,” said Tamara Lundgren, Chairman and CEO. “This framework forms the cornerstone of our sustainability strategy and continues to create significant value for all our stakeholders.”

The report highlights the Company’s progress toward its multi-year sustainability goals, such as a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions at recycling operations from the 2019 baseline, a 16% year-over-year reduction in total case incident rates, and the expansion of its ISO-certified Environmental Management System to cover 50% of the Company’s facilities.

“Our success this year is a direct result of our employees embodying our Core Values of Safety, Sustainability, and Integrity, as well as their agility, resilience, and collaboration,” Lundgren said. “I am proud to highlight our achievements and the steady progress we are making towards our sustainability goals.”

Radius Recycling diverts millions of tons of ferrous and nonferrous metals from landfills annually, supplying recycled metals to both domestic and international customers, while producing some of the lowest-carbon-emission finished steel products available. “Our commitment to sustainability is deeply integrated into our products, services, daily operations, infrastructure investments, and stakeholder engagements,” said Eric Potashner, Chief Sustainability Officer. “The positive impact of our work benefits communities, the planet, and future generations.”

Key Highlights from Radius Recycling’s 2024 Sustainability Report:

  • Recycled 4.9 million metric tons of ferrous and nonferrous metals, sold 3.8 million recycled auto parts, and sold 509,000 tons of low-carbon-emission finished steel products.
